Privacy policy

Google data accessed and used

When you authorize Google Calendar, the app requests read-only calendar access. It reads calendar identifiers, names and display settings, and event details such as identifiers, titles, start and end times, locations and links to Google Calendar. This information is used to select calendars and display upcoming events. The app does not modify Google Calendar events.

Storage and retention

For the server-based calendar connection, Google authorization tokens are stored in a local file on the Raspberry Pi so the app can refresh access without repeated sign-in. Tokens are retained until the connection is reset or the stored credentials are removed. Calendar events are processed by the server and temporarily cached in browser memory for display.

The browser stores calendar preferences, including selected calendar identifiers and display names, in local storage until they are changed or site data is cleared. If the optional browser-based Google sign-in mode is used, its access token is also stored in browser local storage until removed or site data is cleared.

Sharing and protection

Calendar information is exchanged with Google to provide the calendar connection and sent to browsers accessing the password-protected dashboard. It is not sold, used for advertising, or shared with advertising or analytics services. Anyone given dashboard access may be able to view its configured calendars. Public information pages do not display calendar data.

The public site uses HTTPS. The dashboard and its backend routes require a password. Standard server logs may record request metadata, such as IP addresses, request URLs and errors, for operation and troubleshooting.

Disconnecting and deleting data

You can revoke the app's access through your Google Account connections. Revocation stops future authorized access; it does not itself erase locally stored data. The owner can reset the calendar connection to remove the server token file and clear browser site data to remove saved preferences and browser tokens. Close dashboard tabs to discard in-memory event data. Contact the owner for help removing locally retained data or relevant logs. These actions do not delete events from Google Calendar.

Google API use

ElfBerryPi-Dashboard's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
